Apologies if this has been posted before. As we're part of the gravy train now i thought i'd watch this short documentary. The era which brought about the birth of the Premier League.

Great documentary. Such a shame our top league has turned into a basket case business.

From a personal point of view I think the Championship is far superior to today's Premier League.

I think it's when I saw an average player like J Lloyd Samuel years ago have a fleet of brand new cars and a ridiculous sized mansion that the game had gone way too far away from the average fan.

As a business it isn't a basket case at all. As the pinnacle of football as a sport......well now, that's a different thing altogether.

It's more the clubs that drop out of the Premier that seem to struggle badly off the field apart from a few sensible well run exceptions.

As a spectacle I find the Premier League so dull.

That was a good documentary. Shows how difficult it's become for the average fan to afford, attend and connect with modern football. Shame.

David Dein comes across as out of touch and far too self-satisfied.

Particularly enjoyed the Leeds players 'celebrating' the league championship.

You can add Sir Alan to that list of smug so and so's as well.

Magnificent stuff, thanks OP for digging that little gem out :clap2:

I wonder if the vote had gone to ITV instead would the state of football and the money involved today been any different?

As Jim Rosenthal said if Sky hadn't won the vote they might not exist in the format they are today.
