Don't know anything about him so this is not a criticism of our recruitment department as he might be quality but I was hoping for a younger left back. Someone in their early/mid twenties who might stick around for a bit so we don't have this left back search every summer!

30 is not that old, would give us 3-4 years service (poss more - see Bruno!)
3-4 years in football is an enternity

maybe now is the time for experience in this position look for long term in 2/3 years of being in the prem
