Duffy was rash, reckless and very poor defensively throughout the whole game for Ireland (repeatedly booting the ball over the heads of the Irish players into the arms of the Austrian goalkeeper) - he was much better in set piece plays in the Austrian box - but he should have left the 'disallowed goal' to Walters who would have scored without plowing into the Austrian defender. There was no way O'Neill should have paired Duffy with Long. Duffy needs an experienced head to keep him in line - O'Shea should have played - and Hughton needs someone to keep him in check next season otherwise PL strikers will expose him badly.
