Absolutely brilliant run chase going on at The Oval... India 321-6 (50 overs) with 125 from Dharwan and a quick 63 from Dhoni at the close.

Sri Lanka are chasing hard... 301-3 (46 overs)

They need 21 from 24 balls to complete an amazing win.

This would set up two 'quarter finals' in Group B:

11th Match, Group B: India v South Africa at The Oval - Jun 11, 2017
12th Match, Group B: Sri Lanka v Pakistan at Cardiff - Jun 12, 2017

Winner goes through in each game.

England could hardly be in better position from results of non England games. Only guaranteed SFist and group winner to boot, facing (very likely) Sri Lanka or Pakistan in SF.

Would be perfect if we knock the convicts out and SA beat India. Lots of big egos on the planes home.....

As ENREST said, just hope the rain holds off as the rest of the tournament should be cracking.

Sri Lanka have always been my second favourite team due to their FLAIR players and their ridiculously complicated names...

South Africa having a torrid time at The Oval in the first 'Group B Quarter Final'... inserted by Kholi... they are 157-5 (33.3 overs)... having just lost 3 wickets for 17 in 31 balls - two of them run outs!

and it's all over with a third run out :nono:

191 all out (44.3 overs)

Surely India will walk this? but SA do have some powerful bowling options...

The 2nd Group B 'Quarter Final' is under way... Sri Lanka v Pakistan at Cardiff

Pakistan won the toss and inserted on a wicket with a distinctly greenish tinge and uncertain weather outlook.

A decent start from SL.... just as I type this the first wicket falls 26-1 (5.1 overs)
