Seeing as NSC is usually good at helping people when planning trips I thought I would try my luck. Going Vegas in July (went last year) just wondering if anyone has booked the helicopter, shooting or other activates before going? Any info or help would be great.

Literally got back last week from my daughters wedding there, she got married in the Grand Canyon, which involved 2 helicoptors. Absolutely stunning place, they took us about 130 miles (45 mins each way), over the Hoover Dam, landed on the floor of the canyon right next to the Colorado River, it was a jaw-dropping experience. We flew back at sunset, which bathed it all in an incredible colour, then flew right down the Strip which was quite a sight. I can't recommend a helicoptor trip enough. Spectacular.

Went to a firing range as well, called Battlefield Vegas which was great fun. They pick you up at your hotel in a Hum-Vee, and drop you off anywhere you like afterwards. I fired a few rounds from a Thompson semi-automatic into one of those paper silhouette targets and was pleased to hit the middle (till a bit of recoil took it up). You can buy gun packages, mix and match whatever weaopens you like, great fun.

Stayed at Caesars Palace, which was superb (if pricey, $10 for a can of Coors by the pool, $18 or $25 for a cocktail). Recommend you sneak your own drinks in. Loads more to say, but I'm just off out.

Ta-ra.

8 of us going. Went last year but we basically just got pissed all the time in the casino. Did go shooting which was amazing but we just want to sort some more bits out before we go. We really don't want to end up just getting pissed again.

Put some shrapnel in a fruit machine and get free beers off the hostesses, cheapest way to drink there with the bonus you might win a few bucks too

This, got offered comp drinks playing the lowest cost slots. Alternatively sit at a video poker machine at a bar and load it with $20+ and just play very slowly and the drink will flow......

If there is 8 of you I would recommend getting a cabana at a pool for a couple of days - it's a good way to do the pool.

The big wheel is a good way to spend 30 mins - again book it before you go.

Which hotel you at?

Download the Cityzen app as well, free drinks everyday in 4 bars - plus all you drink ALL DAY for $25

You thinking of clubbing?

Was CP worth the money to stay in? I've always been put off by the cost

Was in Vegas last week, went with 6 mates. Instead of the helicopter we hired a car and drove to the canyon. Was absolutely brilliant tbh, had a right laugh in the car and it was interesting driving through the desert seeing the trailers and tumble weeds etc. Was my first time in America, had a great time in Vegas, stayed in planet Hollywood.

Top Golf has been mentioned - that was a good experience. Also went to a techno event called Dirtybird BBQ which I loved, probably not to many people on here's taste maybe but right up my street ha. Enjoyed stratosphere too although never chucked myself off the top!

Only been once which was enough to be honest. Stayed in the Tropicana and highlight was the Grand Canyon, awesome beyond belief.

Walked all along the strip, hotels all interesting but after a few days you realise how tacky it really is, we ended up in some remote area that was decidedly dodgy so Mrs Hut suggested we call a cab, if only I had a number in my mobile to ring !

Some good info cheers. We are staying at Caesars Palace. Stayed at Aria last time which was amazing. CP was the same price this year even in a better month. We are thinking of clubbing but prices seem steep.

Its not like any other hotel I've ever stayed in. Its not cheap, so we tended to have our breakfasts / meals elsewhere (the breakfast buffet is $30 midweek, $50 at weekends, ridiculous). But just the size and opulence of the place, the "roman" decor, its just so OTT its tremendous. The Forum shops and bars area was surreal, huge, winding and all covered by a Sistine Chapel-type sky-painted ceiling makes you feel like you're outside...but you're not. The whole pool area was all done out with roman chariots, stone horses, columns, statues. It was like something out of Gladiator. If you can get a south-facing room in the Octavius Towers, you're overlooking the fountains at Bellagios next door (floor-to-ceiling windows in the room). Just awesome. Cleopatras Barge was great, a floating bar in the middle of the hotel with live bands. Acres of casino as you'd expect (although the poker minimum buy-in there is $100, so I went over the road to the Flamingo where it was $60).

Not cheap. But its an experience, and thats what I went there for (as well as the wedding). Loved it.

If there is 8 of you look at bottle service, depending what day you go you can get a couple of bottles/entry/table for £100 each - considering it's 30ish to get in and 20 a drink it works out cheaper - there was 6 of us back in April and we got a table at chateau which isn't a super club, but it ticked our clubbing box.

Do you have Twitter ?

I can see why they are Billions in debt actually, not many people tend to gamble in there as the tables are $$$ and the Casino floor doesn't seem that busy when I head in.

We tend to stay in the Flamingo actually, it always comes in at a decent price and the tables are a decent value - plus the 5c happy hour helps...

Cheers for the info on it, I may look at it next year, be the last time for a while, so may as well slut it up....

Also, if you don't have it get Uber and Lyft - it's so much cheaper than the cabs out there - if you don't get all 8 of you to sign up and use the code uber702vegas (if this doesn't work have a google) and it will give you $15 credit each - Lyft has a load floating around as well.
