A bit of both.

Tomori should have looked, but the keeper was also miles from his goal line.

Tomori has to take the blame here regardless of where the keeper is. To hit a blind back pass like that is idiotic and with that amount of pace.

.... as Naylor said on his tweet.

You can say what you like about Tomori but he's certainly got an eye for goal! In most senses this is the inverse of Sidwells effort - 50 yards but all along the ground and wrong end!

That feeling when you put your foot through the ball and you realize you've hit it a bit too sweetly.

They're only boys, why isn't the coach telling them to keep their heads up and carry on. A bit more encouragement from the bench, please.

I wonder who's fault it would have been if Stockdale had been in goal? I have a sneaky suspicion I know who would have been given the blame

dear Antonio,

Please see attached own goal.

He was like this for us too.

As a gesture of goodwill we would be willing to take this hopeless young lad off your hands for, say, 25k.

See you next season.

Love,

Chris h

Would the gk of got a red if he had saved it with his hands rather than go with his feet?

No, never play a back pass directly at the goal - you will see Stockdale positions himself wide of goal to receive the ball when played from distance - Tomori was at thought for not looking up!
This.

Ball should always be played back wide of the sticks.

Poor goalkeeping for me. The keeper is far too flat footed. You should be able to react to a pass from 35 yards away quickly enough to get something on it. The ball is only a few yards to his right. Imagine if that was a shot from a striker. Would anyone think it should go in?

No, he would have dived and saved it... standing outside the box made that a non option.
