So Kanye West has apparently ended his presidential bid, which is really surprising, given it was such a serious, well-thought-out move and in no way a stunt related to his imminent new album release.

I'm a massive cynic, but I don't actually think that KW's announcement was a publicity stunt for his album. He doesn't need to – his album would shift loads of copies without saying anything.

I do think it was a pre-cursor to him giving it a serious go in 2024/28, but it was clearly never going to fly in 2020 – miles too late to the party.

I agree. This was about testing the water to replace/join Trump but, much like the incumbent, he knows nothing about how to become/be a president, including the deadlines.

2024 if Trump is reelected, 2028 if not.
