Trump is a nasty egotistical bigoted racist he is not the USA which is a great County full of friendly people, I am a little ashamed of our government since he came to power who have fawned over him in the hope to win favour it's only now with a week of Mrs Mays Premiareship left that she can condem his actions and it's only because of backlash of Boris failure to support our man in Washington that he sounded off about Trump.

Tyrants come and go

Sorry, your research comes from a slightly biased source.

It appears that anyone that crticises Israel and its policies is now deemed anti-Semite in an attempt to shut them up. That in itself is racism of the worst kind...

Indeed, accuse the Israeli government of using white phosphorus on Gaza and you're suddenly deemed an anti-Semite.

What I find utterly beyond belief is that the British ambassador was forced to resign for criticising this guy.

Let’s see how many of our gutless, self interested politicians actually break ranks on this prick.

Words fail me, they really do.

I don't think it's a coincidence he says this after launching his presidential campaign.

I'm not sure he necessarily believes what he is saying (seems he has a history of racism allegations though), but he, or more likely one of his aides, knows that a significant section of the electorate will be lapping this shit up.

This is a deliberate and reckless bid to attract voters to Trumpism.

The only hope is the moderates that voted for Trump because they hated Hilary will finally see the light, Trump is just a wrong-un and not fit for office

That said America voted for George Bush Junior twice, a second term still seems likely

That"s one example of worthless degrees. There's more out there.

Going to college doesn't make you more intelligent than those who didn't.

As the recent college scandal has proven, there's a system of nepotism where kids are getting in because of who they know, not what they know.

There also needs to be a break down of what subjects are favoured by Democrats and what favoured by Republicans.

If the Democrats are churning out basic teachers and the Republicans are churning out Engineers then as an intelligence based subject Engineers are smarter than Teachers.

As Mark Twain said "Lies, damned lies and statistics".

I’m at a complete loss as to what overall point you’re trying to make. In this, and previous posts, you correlate intelligence with bank balance, deem study worthless if there’s no job at the end and now add a bizarre statement about teachers and engineers.

It's not that hard to follow. A university degree does not equate to intelligence. Especially when you move away from the hardcore sciences.

Finally someone who gets it. It's all a political show to align himself against the far left looneys now being given a voice in the Democrat party.

It's a modern day form of McCarthyism by highlighting your oppositions extreme left leaning position

The word socialism in the US is a very dirty word.

Our politicians in general should of course be free to criticise foreign leaders. What I'm not sure about, however, is whether the should criticise the leader of the country they are ambassador to. Should our ambassador to the US not just keep their opinions of the shit US leader to themselves? What are the important roles of our ambassadors (apart from a love of a certain chocolate)? Is it not important for them to keep a good relationship with the country they're working with?

Ambassadors report back on what is going on in foreign lands, its always happened. The fact is the wire got intercepted.

This was not for public consumption, but the Mail on Sunday fronted by the lovely Isabel Oakeshott seems to think its OK to make this stuff public to try and make a few quid. Who are the real traitors??

American politics has always been about populism.

Trump is a scum bag, but plays the political game better than the politicians as he recognises that reactionary statements and soundbites are what work in their system.

Most socioeconomic issues are highly complex and interdependent. Understanding them and/or explaining them is problematic, hence the amount of subjective ideas regarding possible solutions.

Hence rather than looking at the multiple factors that affect people from different backgrounds or cultures and what they believe may help to make the US "better", he just says "if you don't like it.... leave".

He says, "if you don't like it...." and you're not white, LEAVE...

Good point.

However, once the Mail had reported it, would it be right for the ambassador to stay in that role?

That's definitely the sub text.

It's pretty galling that the rest of his party (and the country) don't all see that and condemn it.
