Yup, this issue certainly needs government resource and attention at the current time. Glad they're not kicking this into the long grass.

I've not got strong opinions one way or the other about fox hunting but will say that the only reason she's doing this is that the House of Commons will be chockablock with Tory MPs after the next election. There will never be as good an opportunity for her and if she does it early enough then a chance of a strong reaction against it and the Tories will have probably died down before the next election in 2022.

It's a sign that her Government feel confident enough to put forward all sorts of weird and wonderful legislation because there's no credible opposition.

I'm generally pro this government, but if they give this free vote that's disgusting. With a large majority, in effect it gives the green light to the blood thirsty posh boys and their rural thugs to bring back this sick 'sport'.

Why doesn't May reject these calls from some backbenchers? With a healthy majority she doesn't have to pander to threats.

Early days on this.

She knows what she's doing . Unfortunately the entire media is going to give this days of coverage instead of tackling more important issues such as Brexit and the NHS . The next step will be the Tories telling labour they are turning this into a class war

No thanks, the 18th century no longer exists

The 18th century is well on its way back, food banks, increasing homelessness, child poverty, rip off landlords and declining investment in schools, I think the return of Fox hunting will fit in nicely with that lot.

Unfortunately it will be simpler to bring it back than that, and won't use government resources. Backbenchers introduce private members bills in time that doesn't impinge on government time.

The other day when Corbyn pledged that high earners and corporations would pay more tax the Daily Telegraph carried the headline stating how " labour plans to hit those earning £80,000 a year."..... I thought then, not that many people can be upset about that, surely ?

Thats what we obviously need in this country, a Government fit for 1817, bring back Empire, global domination, transportation, capital punishment for children and ricketts.

So fox hunting back, a Marxist policy of capping energy prices, NI contributions to go up, what else have they revealed?

Of course it will use government resources. We can debate how much, but to say it's zero is incorrect.

IF private members bill is raised in time and from a budget not allocated to government time, and the government offer a free vote, then literally it won't use government resources. There will be ministers dead against it and ministers all for it, but their politicking on this side issue will have to be done in their own time.

But if this is a government bill, that's a different story.

Anyway, getting back to the real issue. May is foolish to allow a vote for the resurrection of this barbaric hobby. Pest control is one thing, but a couple of hundred :wanker: 's charging rounding the countryside getting a kick out of participating in a one-sided blood thirsty contest is sick.

Why can't they just ban Jeremy Hunt.

Jeremy Hunt is doing a fine job. Why only on Sunday the drippingly rich part time ballroom dancer was warning us all that Johnny Foreigner was trying to interfere in our election. Anyone with half a brain knows it's all a nonsense of course but it does give the UKIP enthusiasts something to get cross about.

didnt warrant the time to ban it, doesnt warrant the time to repeal the ban. wish they'd give time to a issue that matters like reforming planning.

Unfortunately, about 80% of the Tory MP's elected will be PRO Hunting, more than enough to get it through.
