2nd highest points tally in our history I believe? The only time we bettered it was when we won league 1 with 95 points under Gus.

Indeed and I believe we got hammered 3-0 at Walsall during the last game. Or certainly fell well short of the 100 points Gus felt we'd achieve.

My point being, that this run in was similar.

93 points is monumental given our net spend this season.

We are up.

Yey!

Yes, 93 points - more than two a game - is phenomenal...Burnley finished on 93 last season and also 93 in 2013/14 when it was only enough for runners-up behind Leicester.

No, we beat Walsall 3-1 to take the title. We played 4 more games after that, the last being a draw at Notts County. Two draws and two losses.

It is a superb achievement, and we should all be proud of the players and staff. Over the past 13 seasons our points total is effectively equal 4th - and there are some very good teams in this list:

Reading (2005-06) - 106
Newcastle (2009-10) - 102
Leicester (2013-14) - 102
Sunderland (2004-05) - 94
Newcastle (2016-17) - 94
Burnley (2015-16) - 93
ALBION (2016-17) - 93
Wolves (2008-09) - 90
Bournemouth (2014-15) - 90
Reading (2011-12) - 89
Sunderland (2006-07) - 88
QPR (2010-11) - 88
Cardiff (2012-13) - 87
West Brom (2007-08) - 81

Also over the past 12 seasons, the team who finished second in the Championship has survived 8 times in the Premier League the following season. Some high finishes as well - 9th, 10th, 11th. Plenty of encouragement for next season:

Wigan (2nd in 2004-05) - next season finished 10th
Sheff Utd (2005-06) - 18th (R)
Birmingham (2006-07) - 19th (R)
Stoke (2007-08) - 12th
Birmingham (2008-09) - 9th
West Brom (2009-10) - 11th
Norwich (2010-11) - 12th
Southampton (2011-12) - 14th
Hull (2012-13) - 16th
Burnley (2013-14) - 19th (R)
Watford (2014-15) - 13th
Middlesbrough (2015-16) - currently 19th
