The 3ft (90cm) continental giant rabbit, which was 10 months old and named Simon, died while travelling from London Heathrow to O’Hare airport in Chicago...

...Owner Annette Edwards, a breeder from Worcestershire, told the Sun that Simon had been expected to grow to be the world’s biggest rabbit after his father Darius grew to 4ft 4in (1.32 metres). She said his buyer was famous.

United Airlines CEO has issued a statement saying "Although this particular rabbit may not have enjoyed his flight to the absolute maximum, I'm sure the owners will get over the death very quickly and United Airlines will continue to go from strength to strength for many years to come."

Have the airline reached out to Simon's next-of-kin yet? They're pretty good with the reaching out thing. Usually follows fairly swiftly after the dragging out thing.

From all accounts the bunny was silent as security dragged him from his seat. The officer yelled "Hop to it, Bugs! Don't come to Chicago unless you expect some rough treatment."
