He would, but why take the risk of missing out on the £10k when the only bonus for taking that risk is an additional £5k? You can see why he didn't think twice once he was out of position.

Both O'Sullivan's 146 break and Selby's 143 break today were magnificent breaks. Once Selby had the frame safe he took on some extraordinary shots in his 143. Where the last 4 reds were left in his break, you'd never have expected him to have ended up making a total clearance.

Ronnie is known to purposefully not make a maximum as he thinks the prize is too low for the skill involved, and I tend to agree with him.

He clearly played onto the pink on purpose. He definitely could have played onto the black. He had a big grin on his face when he was doing it and looked up to the commentators
