They weren't stewards, they were fire marshals. Apparently, Will Griggs on fire, but he wasn't in the team so they weren't needed

They knew there would be a pitch invasion and a degree of control loss over the crowd. Their duty is to protect away fans from nutters. Thankfully it wasn't needed as everyone behaved.

Between two 'friendly' clubs, eliminating a few hundred seats from sale.

Seemed an appropriate side to win promotion against in a funny way. Remember going into Woolworths on Western Road in circa 2001 and seeing a great pile of Wigan calendars - purely because they were in the Premier League. I don't think there were many takers.
