Presuming we don't make it this year (from a cheery perspective)...

We can look forward to:

- another roller coaster season in the most exciting and unpredictable league in England
- at least an extra 6 games which we wouldn't get in the Prem
- realising the world did not end with the failure to win promotion
- not being cannon fodder for the established Prem teams

So, every cloud....

...not that it will come to that, of course. But just in case.

Normally I would agree with you..........but we have already been there. If we come third and just miss out then we have made no more progress than last season.

Like most on here I have really enjoyed the Championship, and last summer I was not too downbeat after missing out on promotion, great as that would have been. But I fear that this summer, should we not make it, 4 or 5 of our best players will leave - we can't afterall deny them the chance to play at the top level - and if TB does decide to rein in his losses somewhat, then it may not be a roller coaster season, but rather a downhill one, as cheaper players are brought in. This MUST be our season.

I think TB may reign in the spending if we don't go up this season, so it is unlikely we will be making a similar assault next year...imo (Sorry I think this is supposed to be a cheery thread )

* more bed-wetting if we get close to promotion again :wozza:

that would be the one thing I would hate more than anything about another season in this division

You really think there will be LESS bedwetting if we get to the Prem?

You ain't seen nothing yet.

I havn't been to, Sunderland, Sheffield United, Bolton Wolves and Preston If we stay in the championship I can knock all of them off my list of the 92 grounds visited.... Obviously I'd rather tick Liverpool, Everton, Newcastle, Watford, West Ham and Burnley off my list though.....

We should be able to look forward to more wins, as we certainly won't be winning too many in the Prem!

I agree. IF we get to the prem and we haven't signed 7 world class players by the beginning of August mattresses will be getting turned over countywide and beyond.

The championship is probably the most exciting unpredictable roller coaster League in the world. Another season of that isn't all bad.

The trip to Leeds last week was a peak into what we can expect from most away games next season, high expectation but ultimate disappointment.

Disagree. .......if we get more points than last year we have made progress. This year we were the predicting the rise of the big clubs, Derby,Forest, Newcastle, Villa, Leeds, Massive,Wolves, not to mention Norwich, Reading ect ect ect. We were not giving ourselves a fighting chance against what is a formidable line up but we are currently in second place with a good chance of going up. If we fail (again) it will be against a tougher league but with more points than last year.

This bedwetter really won't care too much if we come straight back down. This viewpoint may change if we do manage to go up this season
