Don't use your phone in the bath if it's charging. (Common sense)

A man was electrocuted as he charged his mobile phone while in the bath, an inquest has heard.

Richard Bull died when his iPhone charger made contact with the water at his home in Ealing, west London.

A coroner ruled his death was accidental and plans to send a report to Apple about taking action to prevent future deaths.

Safety campaigners have warned about the dangers of charging mobiles near water following the inquest.

Mr Bull is believed to have plugged his charger into an extension cord from the hallway and rested it on his chest while using the phone.

He suffered severe burns on his chest, arm and hand when the charger touched the water and died on 11 December.

Assistant coroner Dr Sean Cummings, who conducted the inquest at West London Coroner's Court on Wednesday, is to write a prevention of future death report to send to Apple.

Sorry and sympathies to relatives friends etc. but, come on, some people appear to have had a common sense bypass when you see some of the things which go on in the world !

Darwin awards alive and well (pardon the pun).

Does the coroner really believe idiots of this world need to be told not to mix electricity and water? Surely they should be allowed to self euthanize so as to remove their genes from the pool and protect the rest of us.

What does the judge expect Apple to do - employ people to babysit everyone who has a bath?

It's comparable with driving whilst using a mobile. People are so addicted to they're putting their lives and others at risk. What a tragedy.

Sing up, put your phones away!

to be fair, output from phone charger is 5v at 2Amps, so im surprised that would be enough to kill even in water.

"You're wet which conducts electricity a lot better, you're in the bath with no clothes on so skin resistance is less. You're vulnerable in the bathroom."

Your vulnerable all the time, any place anywhere.
Accidents are always going to happen.
Unbelievably stupid you are to take an electrical appliance into a wet area, beggars belief.

Remarkable how some people can't just let their phone charge in the bedroom for about fifteen or so minutes whilst they have a bath. They can't help but have their eyes glued to the screen. This death is just a sad and pointless thing to happen.

I expect Apple will have to put a paragragh in their instruction book about this sort of thing.
Beggars belief really, electricity in water, what was he thinking.
As mum said, common sense isn't so common.

Kids, take this advice seriously, do not use your mobile phone whilst plugged in and in the bath. But don't forget to dry your hair.
