Albion U-23s have 3 matches left in Premier League 2 Division 2 and tonight face Aston Villa at Villa Park, kick-off 7pm.

Sam Adekugbe has recovered from his latest injury and starts at left-back. Will Collar starts at right-back with a central defensive pairing of Ben White (who signed a new contract in January) and Ben Hall. Tyler Hornby-Forbes starts on the right of midfield with Jordan Davies on the left and an Irish central pairing of Jayson Molumby and Des Hutchinson. Upfront there is a pairing of James Tilley (5 goals in his last 3 matches) and trialist Andre Wright.

Andre Wright is on trial from WBA. He started his two-year scholarship with the Baggies in July 2013 and was given a third year in 2015-16 when he had loan spells for Kidderminster Harriers and Torquay United. He signed a professional contract with the Baggies in the summer and joined Coventry City on loan at the end of August. After 2 goals in 12 appearances for the Sky Blues it was announced on January 17th that he would be joining Yeovil Town on loan. However, the next day it was announced the deal was off and the reason was nothing short of farcical. FIFA regulations allow a player to be registered with three clubs during the course of a season but to only play official matches for two. Wright had, of course, played for Coventry this season but had also appeared for the WBA U-21 side in the Checkatrade Trophy before his loan spell. As the EFL regard this competition as a first-team competition, under the FIFA regulations he is considered to have played official matches for two teams this season (even though it CLEARLY wasn't a first team competition for Albion). Surely only the EFL can manage to allow U-21 sides to compete in a competition to supposedly assist in young player development, but then have a young player's appearance in that same competition cause that player to miss out on an excellent development opportunity.
