who can take Turkey seriously with that sort of rhetoric? and it just cheapens what "fascism" means, stopping some foreigners from holding a political rally is hardly fascist. i wonder the response of Erdogan if some foreign politician went to Turkey to address a crowd, reckon it would be more than escorted to the border.

It is a bit odd. This would be the equivalent of May holding rallies in Turkey in our next general election. I never thought I would hear of the Dutch being accused of fascism.

Turkey continued its aggressive rhetoric towards the Netherlands by referring to it as the "capital of fascism".

Strong language? or just politics?

The only response available to the Dutch, Erdogan talking of fascism in Europe, well thats novel. I see the French allowed a rally, somewhat smaller, but weak all the same. Interesting to see how many were mobilised for the rally.

Erdogan's getting a bit worrying these days...It's bad enough with what he has done and is aiming to do with extending his control in Turkey. When he starts trying to extend his influence to Germany and Holland he is showing himself up to be more the fascist.

They did have the largest Nazi party outside of Germany in the 30s and the war years...... but Erdogan is simply stirring rhetoric for the sake of his political future....

Turkey is demanding that the EU hand over €3bn promised under the landmark agreement so that Turkish authorities can spend it as they see fit.

Yes, Billions of Euros. The EU. Yes.

As well as the funds Soulman highlighted can I also add the money thrown at EU accession countries ... 4.5 Billion Euros going to Turkey.

As we are asking questions. How do you reconcile your dislike of all things Tory who you would no doubt never vote for with voting to stay in an institution that is at least partly responsible for imposing crushing austerity, poverty and mass Youth unemployment on a member state?
