Main cause for many of Derby's problems is the constant managerial go around. Each summer they heavily invest in the squad but if you chop and change the management at the first sign of trouble then it'll lead to a squad of players that don't suit the plans the one after has for the way they want the team to play. In the time we've had Hughton in charge they've had:

Steve McClaren 1 October 2013 25 May 2015
Paul Clement 1 June 2015 8 February 2016
Darren Wassall 8 February 2016 27 May 2016 (Caretaker Manager)
Nigel Pearson 27 May 2016 8 October 2016
Chris Powell 27 September 2016 12 October 2016 (Caretaker Manager)
Steve McClaren 12 October 2016 Present

They said on Sky the other night nearly all teams promoted from the Championship had a manager who'd been ther for at least 3 transfer windows. Off the top of my head Boro, Watford, Norwich and West Ham didn't

Derby are fecked by having an interfering owner

They're following the Forest route of hiring and firing. Since 2012 Forest have gone through TWELVE (!!!) managers. Thank goodness we've got Tony Bloom at the helm.

The chairman is a looney. Is mates with the players , constantly undermines the manager and has caused massive disparity on some players contracts. They can change manager all they want but that isn't why they have problems

To quote a Derby friend of mine:
"Some of McClarens tactical decisions are ridiculous. He plays 1 up against a mid table team at home then 3 up away against top of the league. Clueless !! "

This. Much as I have no time whatsoever for Steve "useless tit" McClaren and his hair island, he's really not been given any chance to sort out the mess that the Chairman has created.

If they carry on with "the Derby way" then it'll just mean more of the same, however much money they spend.

Anyway, it's all very funny.

It could be perfect for us if McClaren goes soon, to get a new manager in soon after and especially if it's Rowett this could give them the 'new manager boost' just in time for when they play Huddersfield on their own patch !

If their chairman was 'seething' as reported, then McClaren is surely gone before the next game.

Would be fantastic if a new manager could knock Derby into shape before they play Huddersfield.

Agreed, the chairman should be asking himself the difficult questions - he's made a stream of ludicrous decisions.

My favourite Derby related quote is Nigel Clough pointing out he was sacked as Derby were 14th and just lost to Forest - whilst reducing wage bill enormously

Having inflated the wage bill several times over and spending anything from £100m to £150m re transfer fees and wages in the following five years ... Derby are now 10th
