Duffy and Dunk

One of the main reasons why we're top with solid performances week after week. Forwards and goal scorers will generally be picked as MOM for obvious reasons but IMO these two deserve huge credit for keeping the goals against column in order and providing the rest of the team with an opportunity to excel in forward areas.
Excellent players, both of them! Producing performances time after time. :albion2:

Duffy was a class above tonight. Great in the air, sublime goalline clearance and prevented one of the 'best' strikers in the Championship from touching the ball for most of the match.

You know they're a 7/10 minimum pretty much every game.

I also recall the kids on Twitter laughing and mocking us for signing Duffy (based on one game) - some on here even bought into the hype...

Our boxing them in kept forcing them to play it long, and we were secure in the knowledge Duffy and Dunk would gobble it up every time. Best CB partnership in my time watching the Albion.

It's definitely an Albion thing, esp today of all days.
I just love watching top quality centre backs.

But even in the pantheon of greatness that we've watched, in the position, over all these years, I'm struggling to think of a pair more complimentary.

Couldn't agree more. Not seen either lose many aerial duels whilst both hugely capable on the deck.

A lot of people (myself included) questioned why we needed Duffy when we felt that Dunk/Goldson was a good pairing and Uwe was a more than capable fill-in - or any 2 of those three.

Now we have him, i 100% see why Hughton went after him. £4m is pennies.

Foster and Lawrenson, maybe?

It's very difficult to say who is the better pairing, I think the present two may just shade it, and I never thought I would say that.

Goldson is class too, learning his trade. Great to have them all.

They do have a habit of clapping and cheering us on.
