As most of us know all too well, it isn't easy to build a new stadium nowadays, particularly in the south of England!!! Wimbledon are one step away from their dream of returning home. Incredible that this is even a possibility if you consider that their club was taken from them and moved to Milton Keynes not so long ago.

If you want to help please fill in the link after the blurb below...

:albion:

The Bring The Dons Home campaign had thought that the last letter-writing campaign (to the Secretary of State) was the final round of public participation required, but we were wrong! We need to ask you to write one more letter…

This time we are hoping to avoid any potential delay to the demolition of the existing dilapidated greyhound stadium on the site. Any delay would of course have a knock-on effect to the timescale for the redevelopment of the site and potentially the viability of the entire project.

Historic England have been asked to reconsider whether the current site, or any aspect of it, deserves to be listed because of its historic or architectural interest. They had previously ruled that the site was not of significant enough interest to be preserved.

Clearly we at BTDH and the board of the football club would like Historic England to come to the same conclusion again.

BTDH have drawn up a form for you to send to the Senior Listing Adviser responsible for the consultation, and you can assist us by emailing her at Historic England via our website.

So please fill in the form and pass it on to anyone else you think you will be supportive. Please hurry - consultation closes at the end of this week.

Many thanks for your help and we look forward to construction works starting as soon as possible so we can all enjoy the satisfaction of having brought the Dons home.

The BTDH Team
