Saturday 22nd February 1902

The Albion played their first ever game at the Goldstone Ground, Newtown Road, Hove as a Sussex Senior Cup semi-final was taking place at the County Ground, the club’s home pitch. The opponents for the historic friendly were Southampton Wanderers who were soundly beaten 7-1. The club moved permanently to the Goldstone for 1902/03 and became the sole occupants in 1904.

I think it would be a good idea to rename the East Stand the Goldstone Stand. Then our fantastic old ground will be talked about for many generations and never forgotten.
