What's more important the Team or Quality at all positions?

If we are playing in a different league next season, should we primarily stay with the same team and evolve with three or four quality signings or upgrade extensively?

Many say that some of our current players aren't good enough for the Premiership but if we are initially looking for mid-table or just safety, do we need wholesale changes? Ashley Barnes was adequate for the Albion but didn't ever pull up trees for us but has been quite reasonable in his "Team". Palace under Pardew made wholesale changes and have never been a team again since. I believe that they have only one won two games in a row once since Murray left them. Leicester stuck with a core that took them up and last season only had a handful of players who could have got into every premiership squad at the start of the season. This season, they brought in some people who upset the psychological balance of the team and pay structure, losing the team spirit and we can all see has happened.

Hull have done well, considering the off field challenges but they too have the core of last years team but without the consistency of a single quality manager to guide them through pre-season and the whole season. It is the TEAM which means that they are not adrift from the rest at the bottom.

We have a great TEAM and Chris Hughton's greatest challenge must be how to maintain that spirit as personnel change and results become more difficult to get.

Keep the spine of the team, Stockdale, Dunk, Duffy, Knockaert, Stephens (if he wants to stay) then build around them and get more strength in depth/competition for places.

Still way too early to be discussing this though especially with our next two games...

Don't need to do what Leicester did in the summer or even do what Brum have done this season......

Oh and as for the question it's first team spirit, you then need quality, then team spirit ending off with quality...it's a circle.

To sustain a Premier League spot, or sustain a challenge for promotion next season will involve significant funds.

If we go up, then quality will need to be purchased in all areas of the squad.

If we fail, then the crown jewels will more than almost certainly leave us and we will then have to rebuild for another attempt at the summit.
