Interesting, it's not all about the parachute payments then?!

Without being pedantic (oh go on then, being pedantic), when clubs are in the Championship, they are not Premier League clubs, whatever they and their fans may happen to think.

Here's another:

Chris Hughton oversees his 100th league game in charge of the Seagulls tomorrow.
If we win, he'll have won exactly half of them. Lose and will be exactly one fifth of them.

nope. they've spent alot of the money already in contracts and have a team not playing well or just full of losers (see Villa), that takes time to sort out.

This.

Although the impact of increased payments may change things.

And yet every year we get threads saying how the Championship will get even harder because of the teams that are going to be relegated.

Mainly because they take all the best players in the transfer market. Even though they may not do much with them, they stop them coming to the likes of us eg Pritchard.#

They also tempt your assistant managers away.

Pretty sure all the clubs that managed to get back up at the first go had the same manager as when they were relegated. Not sure how many of the also rans kept the relegation manager and failed.

Don't parachute payments last 3 years? Surely you need to see what proportion head back up within three years?

It was merely a post, by me, showing what happens the following season.

That's a good stat, and, how many managers last 100 games these days?
