Brighton old boy Russell Slade's side beat Wycombe in the EFL Mickey Mouse Trophy semi final tonight to book a place for Coventry to hopefully play Nathan Jones' Luton at Wembley.

If anyone deserves a trip to Wembley it's Coventry City fans. Over 11,000 of them there at the Ricoh tonight despite them sitting rock bottom of League One after 15 years of dismally sliding down the divisions. Reckon they'll take 25,000+ to Wembley will be a great day out for them.

Obviously pleased for Coventry but hope the final gets about the same attendance, proportionally, as the previous games. A big crowd at Wembley would be all the EFL need to convince themselves this experiment hasn't been an abject failure.

Got Yakubu training with them as a possible signing.Might add a few to the gate,getting on a bit,but should be good at that level.

No doubt Kanu is still jogging around somewhere, hoping Harry Redknapp gets another job soon.

Looks like it will be a huge audience for the final. Coventry already sold over 25,000 tickets and not even gone on general sale and Oxford took 30,000 last season.

Fans in August:

U23 teams shouldn't be allowed in the competition...it's a joke....blah blah blah.....BOYCOTT the entire competition!!

Presumably sacked for focusing on a Cup competition. Clubs like them (and us) don't like that nowadays. It's apparently a distraction from staying up or going up. Funny old game.
