Once again showing he simply isn't good enough. Behind the play, no presence, poor passing and let udders just walk through him at times.

Look at how Mooy played last night - absolutely bossed the midfield - Norwood is nowhere near the player he is.

He needs to play in a five man midfield or in a game where we dominate possession, otherwise he's a passenger who offers nothing defensively. He cannot cover enough ground to intercept or tackle, hence Huddersfield's midfield completely over running us.

Exactly right. In either of those two scenarios he is a real asset. In a game set up like last night's he's very much not.

He plays far too deep.
Instead of taking the ball of the back 4 he should be behind the strikers threading the ball through the opposition back 4.
His set play delivery is normally excellent .
It was his ball out wide that created the Cardiff goal.

In my experience he's better if there is a defensive midfielder behind him to tidy up and do all the dirty work (like Danny Williams). If he's got the time and space to play then he is excellent on the transition. In a flat four he can be exposed very easily.

With kayal off form and Stephens not really bothering to play at the moment. The centre of midfield is horrible. No disrespect to them but sidwell and norwood are lower midtable plodders. We are consistently getting embarrassed away from home in midfield.

Think Norwood will come in as a bit of a scapegoat. Admittedly he is often poor in those types of games where we are dominated, he doesn't have that physicality in the midfield.

On the other hand, he creates a lot of good chances. Superb set piece delivery.

Cardiff game, quick feet to play an accurate ball into Hemed before Cardiff could surround him, accompanied by great play with Hemed for the turn and finish. Small things, but they make the difference in this division. That was a big goal...

I think the manager has to take responsibility for this one.

Hindsight is 20/20 but without Stephens, Kayal still not totally back up to speed, no Baldock as an outball in a game away to a very good side, we should have played 3 in central midfield. If we are totally wedded to a 2 it should have been Sidwell and Kayal.

Norwood is a very fine player in a side that sees a lot of the ball. That was always unlikely to be the case last night.

It takes a lot to play in a 4-4-2, not many midfielders can do it.

I have every faith Norwood would play well in a 5 man midfield.
