"Sheev Palpatine, emperor since 2010, told The Argus: "We are very proud. We have followed Chris's and Chuba's careers with a great deal of interest."

Good piece. Didn't realise that Akpom has played in 50+ first team games (mostly in the championship) and 40 + England representative games and only just 21. Come on Chris, work your magic on the (© Butch Wilkins) "young man."

I thought this was going to be a thread about famous alumnus from our schools. I went to a bog standard comprehensive in south Devon so thin on the ground. Charles Babbage who invented earliest computer. A few footballers who played for Torquay united (Wayne hockley was in my year and Matt Hockley a few years younger had a long career). Mate in year below did sound engineering on the Les mis film. That is pretty much it I reckon.

I have achieved little.

Good piece and this connection could be a real positive in helping us see the best of Chuba. I'd be amazed if the PR team aren't already scheduling a joint visit back up to the school!

Worst website ever, Can only read the headline, the page is so slow to load  can someone copy/paste the text over here please.

The "trick" with the Argus website is to open in a private browser and then wait till page has loaded but before the "adblocker" banner comes up, click the little "x" in your browser address bar to stop the page loading .(thanks to a NSC poster on a prev thread for that tip) This gets the page loaded without ads quite quickly, and you get to read without the big blue banner, but you are correct, newsquest use a god damaned awful webpage template, that is virtually unreadable without ad blockers, private browsers, and quick fingers on the keyboard to stop all the unwwanted crap. And The Argus reporting and gramatical standards are so low as to be comically bad- see the numerous threads and posts about it on NSC for further info
