Quite a few kids (and a worrying number of grown men) panicking that Newcastle didn't sign anyone in the window. Specifically that we didn't sign Andros Townsend.

Try telling them that buying for buying's sake is a mugs game, especially when we're on course for around 100pts this season and were it not for Brighton's remarkable campaign we'd think our own was extraordinary.

They're even talking about Rafa leaving if we don't go up as Champions.

Honestly beginning to think there should be an age restriction on the internet.

I do get the feeling that some clubs almost have that mentality of buying someone, to stop someone else having that player and strengthening. Hence some clubs having "quite a few" strikers, for example...

Absolutely, Chelsea would sign someone like Sidwell, purely to weaken teams who's actually have played him. Everton and their ilk.

I think too many people who play FIFA and Football Manager, think that you have to make a signing every window. As I've said elsewhere, if we were amongst the chasing pack we'd need to sign player who'd make a difference. As it stands, someone like Townsend would just be gilding the lily. Save the money, put it towards a £30m player who'll ensure safety in the 17/18 season.

We're the same, despite the fact we actually did sign a couple of players (including filling the one position we needed to). People panicking about Reading/Leeds signing players forgetting that we've got a decent gap to both of them currently (as you have).

Is that at the higher end of the age range, or lower, or both?

You should see the FEWM on twitter and the boards today. Last night's disappointing performance means; we won't go up automatically, we won't go up in the play offs, Rafa is definitely leaving us, Ashley prefers us as a big fish in a small pond and is actively sabotaging out promotion!

Before kickoff someone stated "Reading are only 3 points off us." Well they were 3 points, something 27 goals, and 2 games off us. They're now 4pts, c27 goals and 1 game off us. Honestly we'll not get a real idea of the top of the league until late March early April time. And even then the Championship is famed for having one team make a last minute surge up the table.

Is that at the higher end of the age range, or lower, or both?
Good point... maybe an IQ test instead.
