Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom is heading to Brighton on loan for the rest of the season.

Akpom, 21 has made one appearance for the Gunners this term, in the EFL Cup against Nottingham Forest.

He spent last season on loan at Hull but wasn't a regular fixture as they secured promotion back to the Premier League.

Brighton boss Chris Hughton will hope he can fire his side up with the Seagulls currently top of the Championship.

Akpom had attracted interest from Aston Villa but his temporary move to the AMEX has been agreed and is set to be finalised today.

Well there we have it, Baldocks back up. Hopefully everyone can relax now and stop all the bed wetting. Unless of course you were deluded enough to think there was a 10million marquee signing on the way, then carry on...

Good news if true. Remember watching him play for Arsenal against Villa a season or so ago. Was a real handful. If he applies himself he could make a key contribution(a goal/assist here or there).

I have no idea if he is any good or not.

I'd like to think so, being at Arsenal, fingers crossed...

Sounds positive to me, and the article seems to have a bit more to it than just a random rumour.

7 goals last season for Hull (in all competitions, only 3 goals in the league though) in 42 appearances, but none in his previous 27 games out on loan at various clubs. Seems to have pace which will hopefully worry defenders and he'll be working hard for the team in the same role as Baldock.

Hopefully he can weigh in with a few vital goals like James Wilson did last season and not be another Jonathan Obika.

He will improve with age and to be fair hull under Bruce were very defensive and boring :)
