But he'll still get paid until his contract is seen out. What a life!

What is it with crap pro footballers/managers that they just go elsewhere for a pay day?

McCarthy is likely to find himself "dropped" by Ipswich quite soon

Brighton factually.....
Another player who is wasting his talent and opportunity, makes you wonder if in years to come he will look back and regret not applying himself enough.

I think he's done well with his limited talent. He's got very lucky. One decent run of form in the Championship secured a big payday for him when he moved to Newcastle. One decent run of form in the Premier League subsequently convinced a number of Championship clubs to take a 'punt' on him in the hope he can reproduce that (Blackburn spent £3 million to buy him!) The guy's earned many millions from a career of 63 goals. 11 goals in the last 5 and a half years. Well done to him.

He's wearing the stripes on his wiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leon_Best

I love this line on there - sums him up doesn't it?

'The game ended in a tie on aggregate, with Best scoring an own goal which levelled the score at 2–2 on the night. Southampton lost 4–3 in the ensuing penalty shootout, with Best missing the opening penalty.[citation needed]'
