Compared to Leeds fans, Newcastle fans are the epitome of magnanimity. They've finally put together a run and their fans start boasting about walking this division and having the best squad despite us not only matching their run but bettering it.

There are idiots at toon but to be honest we should want them to do well, or at least beating the playoff teams, the pundits are playing it off as if we're title rivals, which is sort of true, but the title means less to us than it probably does for them, as they were expecting a Chelsea style steamrolling with miles ahead of the competition, yet form wise we have been better than them. Which is amazing considering their manager is Rafa Benitez, who is one of the most accomplished managers in the country let alone the championship.

They do however, love Hughton and rate him highly, and aside from their banter they have a good reason to rate themselves as they are a very good team with a huge fan base (perhaps not as much as the MASSIVE but still impressive) so best of luck to Toon and hoping we leave the rest of them in the dust.

Been saying this for ages, I don't care what Newcastle do as long as they keep winning against the teams in the top 6 (apart from us)

They WILL be promoted, probably as Champions and I do not care ONE IOTA as long as we are 2nd.

I have had Geordies gloating about their NET spend... Until it's been pointed out they have spent over £50 million this season on a championship squad!

Clubs that get parachute payments will always be in a better position than others... It seems the Premier League want a closed shop as such!

I'm enjoying the tooing and froing at the top of the table. The title is a sub-plot but an intriguing one nonetheless, and this will be our most important trophy if we can pull it off.

Of course promotion is more important than the title. But....

....for those of us who grew up in the 70s and 80s and recall the Kop, almost every year, to a 20,000 man of them, singing: "Just like a team, that's gonna win the FOOTBALL LEAGUE....We shall not be moved!" I would love it (love it) if we could sing this at Villa Park. Wouldn't you?
