Will probably be good for the FTSE 100 with all the overseas companies within it, but for the rest of us, will no doubt see price rises on anything imported very soon the way things are going.

Although why this couldn't be posted in the Brexit Thread I do not know?

The 31 year low MAY not be connected to Brexit.

Any company with any sense would have factored this in by now anyway

Effect means subsequent to or result of.

Affect basically means to influence.

Feel free to PM me if you need help understanding the difference between verbs and nouns.

Nah, your OP makes no sense (no change there then eh ?). I would use :

Let's see what effect the UK Markets opening has on the value of sterling
Let's see how the opening of the UK Markets may affect the value of sterling

Please, please don't PM me. Ever.

Many of the companies in the 100 are effectively being valued in dollars and priced in pounds, so a drop in the pound against the dollar should result in an increase in its price, if it's perceived dollar value has remained the same.

Indeed, which is why you should say "Let's see what effect the UK Markets opening has." You are seeing what the result of opening the UK Markets is.

Feel free to PM me if you need help understanding the difference between verbs and nouns.
If you're going to try and patronise dazzer, it would help if you weren't wrong.

Are you really a journalist?
