Hi all

A new stereo seems a bit excessive but I want better radio access.

There is an aux port, so I'm looking for a pocket DAB radio that can be plugged in (like an old ipod).

Any pointers?

Thanks in advance for comments.

Modern cars are pretty good at blocking radio signals (something to do with UV protection); couple that with a small antenna, it'll drop out a lot.

I had a Pure Highway a couple of years ago, bought for just such a purpose. It was crap and I flogged it.

Other people might have had a better experience though.

Speak to http://www.dabonwheels.co.uk - they offer great advice and sell pretty much everything for in car DAB. I have the "digitizor" in my car and a magnetic antenna and it's grand.

I got annoyed with AM reception in my car, so had one of these fitted

http://www.autodab.com

It's integrated into the factory fitted radio/cd system (works on one of the fm channels), unit is completely hidden in the boot and system is fed by a very unobtrusive window aerial in the rear side window (I have got an estate). It's operated by a ver small remote control. Reception on it is generally excellent - just the odd blackspot here and there. World of difference from usual AM reception. Very pleased with it.

System was fitted within a couple of days of ordering, by a mobile unit (ie at home). Took about an hour.
