Nottingham Forest's proposed takeover by a United States-based consortium led by John Jay Moores has collapsed, according to owner Fawaz Al Hasawi.

The Championship club, under a transfer embargo, had been in talks with the former owner of San Diego Padres.

However, Al Hasawi, who took control at the City Ground in 2012, says negotiations have "come to an end".

"A deal as it stands is not in the interests of the long-term future of our club," he said.

Unless he's a bargain price I'd say he'd be a bit high risk this year. He's only started 5 league games plus 7 as a sub. Has he had a bad injury?

Very bad knee injury. Was out for 13 months I think.

When Fawaz took over he promised a 3rd star on the Forest shirts... didn't realise the stars meant how many seasons in League One
