........he appeared on BTSport bigging up Plymouth before the match at Anfield. He was something of a Plymouth legend before becoming an Albion one. Good to see him - and the Argyle did pretty well against Liverpool's stiffs.

A Brighton legend and then
A Charlton legend

All of those club's supporters would regard him as a cherished player. There can't be many players who have achieved that level of affaction at three separate clubs?

PS I recommend his books - superb writing!

Both his books are worth a read - one possibly both, got awards I think. Struck me as brighter than the average footballer and I think came from a family of teachers.

He did a business course at Northbrook College. I remember because I invigilated his exams as he sat them in a room on his own.
