On this day 34 years ago. FA Cup 3rd round day. Barnet v Brighton, Enfield v Palace, Spurs v Arsenal.

The tube journey was lively; outside the Red Lion in Barnet was even livelier. I can't imagine that set of fixtures all being allowed to KO at the same time these days.

Oh goody, another thread when the fairy can tell us about the good old days of the London away day on a train with the "top boys" but can tell you no names

A grim day all round..... we were detained at East Croydon.... we only wanted to mildly dispute which carriage they were allowed to get on.... no sense of humour..... spent a number of hours in the back of a police van before being escorted back to Brighton.

Deffo unlikely all 3 would be on TV.
There's no interest in Barnet v Brighton.
Obviously the North London derby would be on TV.

Sure Enfield v palace has giant killing written all over it but I think Enfield would have enough to hold on.

Planted the flag in a few home boozers that day against overwelming odds Spurs and Enfeild tried to take our main crew in a pincher movement but we all lived to tell the tail, Still got a few scars but urned my stripes that day

Erm, weren't we home to Newcastle in 3rd round 34 years ago?

Correct, my bad. Christ I'm even older than I thought. 35 years ago!

Another memory was having a drunken chat with John Vinicombe in a Barnet pub pre game. Top man.

If I recall right the home game was a thank you to all lottery sellers. My dad sold them around Crawley and we got two free tickets to the replay and sat in the west stand. Never sat there before or ever again.
