Why would they have cost over and above what other bands would charge? They were bloody good though I'll admit.

Pretty sure most bands play there for free. Most would be happy with the exposure.

There have been several "bands" fairly obviously doing it pretty much for free...
The Gangsters were a definite step up in class.
The Gangsters don't need exposure. They are always booked up. They are what they are, a very good ska, reggae and blues (when that's what's requested) covers band.
They were excellent
They played at my wedding 19 years ago. Just as good now as they were then.

Seen me a few times in various pubs. Always decent.
They must be local. My father just informed me he's watched them at The Battle in Portslade!
