How many teams have been the first to get to >50 points and then failed to win promotion?

Someone out there will know this - maybe the answer is zero?

Hasn't happened in the last 20 years.
In 05/06 Sheff Utd got 52 then only 38 in second half of the season and still made it in second place.
Wolves in 08/09 got 53 then only 37 in the second half of the season but were still champions.

Interesting that Sheff United only picked up 38 points in the second half but still went up easily
