We had 54 nominations, so we’re having six groups of nine, before we go to the knock out stages.

This is the line up for the Group Stages.

Each group has one seeded Radio Turn Off – judged by the number of nominations on the original thread, one or two second seeds and the rest of the group is made up of the San Marinos of the Radio Turn Off World Cup.

One vote each. Poll ends in a few days.

Then it’s the Quarter Finals and semi final line up

QUARTER FINALS
MATCH A WINNER GROUP 1 V HIGHEST VOTE WINNER RUNNER UP
MATCH B WINNER GROUP 2 V 2ND HIGHEST VOTE WINNER RUNNER UP
MATCH C WINNER GROUP 3 V WINNER GROUP 4
MATCH D WINNER GROUP 5 V WINNER GROUP 6

SEMI FINALS
WINNER MATCH A V WINNER MATCH D
WINNER MATCH B V WINNER MATCH C

Remember this is to find the UK’s Number One Radio Turn Off. Not necessarily the most odious person, but the contender that makes you reach for the off button, almost without having to think of it.

Group 3

Alan Green – Five Live Football commentator. Fortunately you can forecast when to avoid him because he does half the first half and half the second half of 5 lives main game. Odds 9/1

Vaness Feltz – Radio 2 weekdays 5 am and then BBC Radio London from 9am. Reason enough to wake up late. Odds 20/1

Graham Norton – Radio 2 10am Saturday mornings – Quite hard to understand how he is still annoying people on TV and radio on a regular basis. Odds 20/1

Sean Keveny – BBC 6 Music - The draw put this low level irritant in a very weak group. Odds 500/1

Alice Levine – BBC 6 Music – Won’t trouble the judges. Odds 500/1

Vernon Kaye – BBC 6 Music – Hard to see him getting out of even this group. Odds 500/1

David Mitchell – Radio 4 quiz shows – If his middle name isn’t Smug, it ought to be. Odds 200/1

Neil Nunes – The only Continuity announcer nominated. Odds 1000/1

Fearn Cotton – Irritating yes, but not an automatic switch off for many. Odds 1000/1

I demand a re-group. Or give me two votes.

Graham Norton AND Vanessa Feltz in the same group?

Tough one for me here between Neil Nunes & Alan Green.

As you say, Alan Green can be avoided, Neil Nunes is bloody everywhere on R4! I'll go with Neil Nunes.

Alan Green. The teas too cold. The people around him aren't sat down. The weather is awful. A comment for anything - except the game.

The sooner this moaning, sanctimonious old codger is put in a home, the better.
