Not sure about this, Defour won't be happy. As for us being unpopular with Brighton fans I can see us scrapping with Pardew's lot to stay up.

I think it is more likely they are going to wait and sign him in the summer for nothing and have Barton fill in until then.

I really hope you are right and he signs a new extended contract which would be an ideal Christmas present for all of our fans and the club itself. I am sure I read that the club are not even negotiating this at the moment.
