As soon as I saw the news this is exactly what came to mind.

There are no real characters left on the weather. Yes we all like to play the attractive weather girl game - the main reason for bothering to watch the local news - and Thomas Shafernacker or whatever his name is flipped the bird on breakfast television but they don't make them like they used to.

Where are the likes of Michael Fish, John Ketley et al these days?
