[Albion] Leeds United (not really a match) REPORT

Enjoyed both those blogs. Thanks for that and I'm reminded, especially with Mr Banana's write-up of those days when a Leeds match used to be a big thing. What was it Micky Adams MkII said about them after we had lost badly? Was it "well...we were playing Leeds". It was around the same time he said that he "didn't know he was expected to be 6th in October" or somesuch.

A clear, smelling article full of confidence. My only gripe is Withdean "being everyone's least favourite Athletics track and field". In 1972 the old cinder track at Withdean gave me my Alf Tupper moment. Victories in the U-12 400m and 800m Brighton & Hove Schools Finals were the highlights of my running career. It was all downhill from there but I always remember the stadium fondly for athletics.

Funny enough, I agree with part of those comments, Brighton were shite, well, we could have been better, luckily for Leeds, we werent better or they could have had their tales between their legs on the way home like last season.

But what all those comments missed was that we didn't need to be better, we didn't need to go gung ho, Leeds made mistakes and made it easy.

Leeds need to stop feeling sorry for themselves too, the pens were nailed on, not down to a biased ref or a corrupt F.A. just stupid defenders.

I said at the start, we were poor, however, had we missed the first pen, I bet you would have seen a very different and much better attacking performance from Brighton thereafter, we didn't because we didn't have to.

Oh, yeah. I still love Withers - set a PB there earlier this year, and the legacy the club has left is highly useful for amateur athletes.

I don't think it was downhill for you from there, based on your current prowess.

What the actual ****? 18 (EIGHTEEN) shots to 2 (TWO).

We embarrassed them without getting out of 2nd gear. It was like a game between a Prem and a League One club.

Typical DELUDED Brighton fan. :nono:

How can you not see that the better team were robbed by pure bad luck, Brighton's nancy-boy cheating, and the FA / FIFA / the Illuminati's anti-Leeds conspiracy?

Are you STUPID?

Christ they're bitter and deluded. No we didn't play that well but we didn't have to.

I'm sure they can remember the first 30 mins against them last season, if they need reminding of how well we can play.

I could see the arguments for the foul on Dunk but how could anyone say the first penalty was a soft one? It was a clear a handball as you're likely to see, right in front of the ref too. Anyone who thinks that it was a poor refereeing decision is totally deluded

I said third gear in my match report. In hindsight I was generous.

Leeds fans really are HILARIO though. Those tweets should be used as classroom examples of how too much beer + not much intelligence + years of big club irrelevance = the paranoid ramblings of madmen.

A friend of mine has argued it on Facebook. He was convinced the ball only hit his shoulder.

Ha. Even Kalvin Phillips himself didn't contest the decision. He stopped the ball, then just sat on the goal-line, waiting for the ref to send him off!

This. That victory was the very definition of "routine" and "comfortable". It really couldn't have been more straight forward without incorrectly being elavated to the next descriptive level - which would be "easy" or "thrash".

Thanks for posting Exile, as I now know Leeds have the most deluded fans in the country. They were always right up there in that particular table, but I reckon they've pinched top spot.
