I thought I'd start this thread, given I knew a few of you out ther are into this minority music form and, why not?
For me, I like to hear banging anthems, anxt, and a smidge of tortured soul. And my preference is English sung as a second language, with extreme sincerity. Rather like a lot of fantasy lityerature and film, the trick to maximise enjoyment is to suspend your disbelief.
I have been to quite a few gigs of the genre in the last 15 years, and despite the waist training, rubber miniskirts, and total black clothing as necessary, the folk I've chatted to seem very nice. No punchups at the gigs, either.
