Birdwatchers - what is this?

Just been sat in my garden for the last ten minutes. Some kind of bird of prey which probably explains the pigeon feathers all over the garden the other day.

Oi you pedantic, it's a new sighting, looks a different bird to me so different thread.

I don't know about the bird, but it seems to be perched on a corkscrew willow; Salix matsudana Tortuosa.

Ooh really. That's an added bonus identification. We only moved in six months ago and it was already here so had no idea what it was.

Are you sure it's not Corylus avellana "Contorta" (Corkscrew Hazel)?
