Ive been asked to get Santa to bring a VR headset. This will be a £30 job that you slide your smartphone into. Has anyone experienced these, are they any good or a waste of dosh.

Thanks in advance

A decent VR headset costs £500-750. You'll get £30 worth. If it's for a kid who's not experienced VR before, they might really like it. If they've been exposed to a decent one (a friend, maybe?), they'll use it twice before wanting a better one. The sad truth is that VR is still in its relative early adopter stage for anything half-decent. Now, by Xmas 2018/19, it'll all be very different, but that doesn't help you much for this year. Sorry.
