Stockdale-7.5- Good save and kicking was on the whole good

Bruno-7- Solid but didn't get forward as much as usual
Dunk-8-Well played
Duffy-8.5-MOTM-Won everything in the air as per usual and made a couple of key interventions when we gave the ball away
Bong-5-Decent overlapping runs but end product was disappointing and a bit of a liability defensively tonight

Skalak-5.5-He tried but little came off
Stephens-5-Pretty anonymous
Sidwell-7- Made some key interceptions, tried to keep the game ticking over
Knockaert- 5-Stinker by his standards, easy to say with hindsight but should he have played?

Murray-7-Well taken goal and a few good touches but also got outmusced at times
Baldock-4- Shocker tonight

Subs: Murphy-7 Added something a bit extra
Norwood-N/A

Player ratings v Villa

Stockdale 6.5 -- fairly safe, one very good save but, given his high standards, he might be disappointed with the goal
Bruno 6.5 -- solid enough game, and did well enough against Kodjia who was a real handful all night
Duffy 7 -- solid
Dunk 7.5 -- top, top defender. Did look as though he was winding himself up at the end
Bong 6 -- looked a bit ponderous and slow, but did get forward well at times
Knockaert 6 -- not quite on his game tonight
Sidwell 6.5 -- got himself about and used his body well, but couldn't impose himself on the game
Stephens 7.5 -- one or two misplaced passes but, beyond that, oozed calm and got things going
Skalak 7 -- had a decent game and made most the right decisions
Baldock 6.5 -- usual hard work and some good moments in the first half
Murray 8 MotM -- a quite fantastic finish, and plenty of good passages of play

Subs:
Murphy 5.5 -- made too many mistakes
Norwood 6.5 -- did a decent enough job

Villa were the best team to come here. Well organised, good pressing and so many dangerous options up-front, I'd be amazed if they didn't make the play-offs, and they're still in the race for automatics. Got to say I'm happy with a point, but was surprised to see that we had 59% possession (it must have been mostly in our half).

Hmmm I thought Baldock was excellent tonight.

Stockdale-7 To some degree, at fault for the goal, but overall solid other than that.

Bruno-7 Solid
Dunk-8.5
Duffy-8.5
Bong-6 Back to making a few mistakes, but decent going forward - gave too much space to their guy - rarely cut out the crosses.

Skalak-7 Worked hard - several good deliveries
Stephens-6 Gave the ball away too many times
Sidwell-7.5 Excellent, hard-working performance
Knockaert- 5 Just not on his game tonight

Murray-7 Great goal, decent performance
Baldock-7 Excellent link-up play, good partnership with Murray

Subs: Murphy-7 Very nearly scored.
Norwood-6

Yes, I saw the goal. I still don't think he gave enough. It was screaming out for Hemed to partner Baldock.

Agree with most of that apart from Stephens - I thought he had a poor game. Gave the ball away a lot.

Wow! Just wow!

I thought he was excellent in all his offensive work and his goal was premiership class. His only mistske was losing Baker for their goal

There is no chance you're being serious.

Baldock had a run of form, that's well and truly over now. How anyone can suggest he played well despite having no impact on the game at all is ridiculous. Lost the ball, ran into blind alleys and did nothing of any quality at all. Back to his worst tonight, the Wolves game was his absolute one in a hundred performance.

Think the 7.5's might be bit generous. No one deserved an 8 tonight.

Was it not Baldock who set up Murray for the goal?

EDIT: Having seen the highlights, it was an assist for Baldock and nearly another. I thought he closed down the opposition quite well and would say he had an alright game overall

Think you're being tough on Stockdale. Made some excellent saves to keep us in the game. Maybe an 8?

Think I'd give Bong a 3 at best tonight though. He was terrible! Lost the ball umpteen times and was beaten at every turn by their forwards.

You on the wind up fella?

Stockers was at fault for the goal and he made one save which was straight at him. He also flapped at every cross.

In fact he seems to have lost all confidence on crosses this season. Tries to punch everything and often flaps at thin air
