not top end mind,alot of places showing fully booked online that are close to the O2 for late January,this can't be right,can it?

as for restaurants, Asian cuisine,preferably Thai

If you don't mind slumming it a little, I've stayed at the YHA in Rotherhithe a few times when working up in London. Private rooms are about 60 quid a night I think and the breakfast is decent. It's two stops from the O2 and for the price, you can't go wrong.

There's a pub called the Pilot which I've stayed at before - five minutes walk from the o2 and pretty cheap I seem to recall. It's a Fullers pub

It aslo does a very good Scotch Egg.
