How is it an eco stadium if you have to cut down thousands of trees to make it?

For some years now Forest Green has been the finest village football team in the land, and I'd love to see them get promoted to League 2. But I really don't see how they're ever going to fill a 5000 seat stadium, wooden or not.

Zaha Hadid Architects designed it.

No doubt it'll fall down every time a match is played

I don't quite get the 'green' part. Is that purely because it's made of wood? How long will it last? Surely over 100 years a metal stadium will require less maintenance than a wooded one.

Obviously it has to pass fire regulations. So how will it work ?

Do love it though.

You're absolutely right mate, no so much eco, more like echo stadium!

Typical Dale Vince vanity. A fire hazard waiting to happen and wood that is no doubt "ethically sourced" though I doubt its provenance can ever be proven without use of carbon-negative modern technology. Never mind the contradiction of an eco-warrior, new age, millionaire entrepreneur who claims to be about progression then forces a dietary choice upon his players, staff and fans.
