The Russians are expected to pass by Dover about noon. Guess they should be passing Brighton within an hour or two of that?

Get on the end of the pier with your pitchforks.

I don't know. I've hovered over quite a few of the markers but they all seem to be merchant vessels.

I tried this yesterday, then realised that military vessels on active service are hardly likely to advertise themselves are they, friend od foe?

They'll still show up on radar.

Radar? Can hardly miss the black smoke belching out of the aircraft carrier

Having done a little search on firebug for Kuznetsov it isn't showing up. BBC says a 'flotilla' were sailing through the Channel in a news report two hours ago. Although they can be picked up on radar, as suggested in a previous post, it seems likely these are being left off the map, and I would hazard a guess they have long since passed Brighton.

amazing the interest, probably because we don't actually have a Navy anymore !!

Don't you worry, our subs & aircraft are watching them.

This aircraft carrier is very old and has a tug with her at all times because she breaks down so often. It's hardly a threat to us, as she's in international waters. The media do love to build this sort of thing up.

Rather than look for something there, look for something not there. Big gaps in the sea where you would expect the next boat to be.
There is a ship called Concorde just off Hastings right now with a massive gap behind it.

So is Putin making sure they sail into British waters just to make a point ? Or are they keeping out ? ???

Indeed.

Its similar to the occasional hysterical headlines you see about Typhoons being launched on QRA to monitor the movements of Russian bombers in the vicinity of our airspace.

The stories always seem to present this as a highly unusual act, when in fact its been going on fairly regularly since we were chasing them off with English Electric Lightnings.

Gosh, that's sounds like Yodas explanation for the missing Cloners planet on the Jedi's interactive map[emoji3]
