As a Corrie fan that's a bit of a shock but she was quite old when she left in around 1990?

Will never forget her mural and the ducks. It was a lovely view. Brightened up a real northern house.

RIP a Coronation Street legend.

Jean Alexander was 90 three days ago. Even when she left Coronation Street, she kept on working. She was also in Last of the Summer Wine.

A great actress.

Sad news about our Jean. RIP duck.

And where was Bernard Youens (Stan Ogden) born? Only Hove actually!!

Have to say I thought she died decades ago. Stan certainly did, they even kept his character alive in the show after he was brown (bread), him apparently banging on the floorboards of their Victorian two up two down, wor Hilda shouting up that she was "Coming" with 'bedridden' Stan's bacon buttie.

The scene when Stan died was brilliantly acted by Jean and sticks in my mind.
Probably Corries best character which takes some doing as Corrie was great in those days.
Hilda Ogden RIP
