Trainers now permitted in 1901 but not in DINNING areas

Brighton & Hove Albion have made an amendment to the dress code in the 1901 Club lounges, starting with Saturday's match against Preston North End, and members and guests are now permitted to wear trainers.

The amendment follows feedback from members and the evolving fashion in casual footwear during the first five-year term at the Amex. We have researched the requirements at other sporting venues across the country and have amended our dress code accordingly.

Hospitality guests dining in HB's Restaurant will still be required to wear shoes; trainers will not be permitted in dinning and hospitality areas.

Members are reminded that they and their guests can wear collared shirts, including polo shirts and smart jeans, trainers, canvas shoes are permitted.

Please note: Replica shirts (under-16s are allowed to wear a Brighton & Hove Albion replica shirt), ripped jeans, shorts, non-collared t-shirts, flip flops are not permitted

Customers are respectfully requested to bring a selection of suitable footwear if intending to both dinn and watch the match.

To be fair, BROGUES and WINKLE-PICKERS are allowed to be worn in the watching areas.

Do we really employ someone who's had to map and evaluate the evolving trends in casual footwear over a five year period?

Looking forward to seeing that montage as the teams walk out on Saturday.

At some point you actually start to feel SORRY for the poor saps in the 1901 Club, trapped in a five year deal with no way out and eternally feeling cheated and subject to some kind of random ridiculous CLOTHING POLICE.

(Mod edit PLEASE dont avoid the swear filter) that for a game of costumiers! Give me the North Stand any day.

Fvck that for a game of costumiers! Give me the North Stand any day.

As long as I can wear my codpiece to games I'm happy

Good news indeed. Only taken them five years to see what is bloody obvious. Maybe now the stewards will look me in the eye rather than at my feet.

Who knows one day they might even let us wear a Brighton shirt!!!

Quite. IMHO, the club are jumping the gun with their poncey fine dinning rules and regulations. Fair enough when you're in the Premier League and genuine corporate ponces are falling over themselves to pay Premier League prices to wine and dinn their corporate clients. But up until that point, the club should should bend over backwards to cut a whole load of slack to the mainly local people who keep the 1901 club up and running and pay over-inflated prices for, by all accounts on here, a fairly shoddy product.
